And if you’re not that of a patient person and don’t want to wait till the computer turns on then just put it to boot up a few minutes before you’re going to sit to work. Since our generation uses quite the amount of electronic gadgets, we may be able to save a whole lot of energy.

Also, try to recycle glass. This reduces related air pollution by 20 percent and water pollution by 50 percent. On the other hand, if not recycled, glass can take about a million years to decompose.

Avoid bottled water. This is not only good for your health, but also the environment and on, not to mention, your wallet. Almost 90% of plastic bottles are not recycled, that means that the previous are just left to rot and decompose; which will take thousands of years. The EPA’s standards for tap water are way better that the FDA’s standards for bottled water.

This will support the economy of your own country and the amount of greenhouse gases are also reduced; that are created when your products are flown or trucked again.

One of the most important things that we surely need to shun, are plastic bags. About 500 billion plastic bags are used worldwide. Being non-biodegradable, they do not decompose, instead end up in the oceans and thus eventually the food chain.

So these are some of the many steps that you should follow at your home in order to go green. Everything starts from your own home By making only a few adjustments in your life, you can also live sustainably.
